The Boat and Gear
Night Terrorz

The Spinning Tackle by Shimmano and Dawin
Boat by Back Country

The boat we will fish is an 18' 9" Back Country Pro Guide, powered by a 150hp Mercury. This is a nice platform to fish from. It gives up a few inches of draft to achieve a smooth fast ride.

You can always find a quiet creek or lee shoreline to fish on windy days but you still have to get there. The boat has front and rear live bait wells and a large release well. Plenty of dry storage for extra clothes, cameras, sundry paraphernalia, enclosed rod lockers to protect valuable rods and reels and to keep spares out of the way in the heat of battle.

Why is the boat called Night Terrorz?

" I have fished summer nights all my life with top water plugs. A large snook or Tarpon hitting a top water plug 10 or 15 ft from the boat sounds like a concrete block being dropped from 20 feet into a swimming pool. You can't see the fish only the white spray and possibly the plug passing your face at high mach numbers. Even if he misses the plug what the concussion can do to your heart rate probably wouldn't make your cardiologist very happy. I've seen fishermen (including myself) get the shakes so bad after one of these close strikes that they couldn't operate their reel for about 5 minutes."

Among its other features the Night Terrorz has been customized for the dark with deck lights, courtesy lights and lights in the live main wells. "So if the sun makes you peel or you're feeling real froggy, I will be happy to arrange a night trip."
